Notice of change - BPCE group changing to 2-step payments

Issued: 27th April 2023 | TB-1130

What's changing?

BPCE group banks are currently configured as a 1-step banks for payment initiation requests. This means that when you initiate a payment, a BPCE group bank will automatically execute the payment immediately after authorization is provided by the user.
BPCE group banks are now changing this behaviour and will no longer support 1-step payments. Instead they will support 2-step payments.

In future, after authorization is completed, you'll be expected to initiate the create transfer API call (POST /transfers) to initiate payment execution.

Does this change affect you?

If you wish to continue to support connectivity to BCPE group banks for payment initiation, you'll need to ensure that you treat these banks as 2-step banks instead of 1-step banks.

If you are using the Auto redeem capability you won't be impacted by this change.

The following banks will be affected:

Banque BCP   Banque Populaire Sud   Caisse d’Epargne Loire Drôme Ardèche
Banque de Savoie   Banque Populaire Val de France   Caisse d’Epargne Loire-Centre
Banque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne   Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes   Caisse d’Epargne Midi-Pyrénées
Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre   Caisse d’Epargne Auvergne et Limousin   Caisse d’Epargne Normandie
Banque Populaire Auvergne et Rhône-Alpes   Caisse d’Epargne Bourgogne Franche-Comté   Caisse d’Epargne Midi-Pyrénées
Banque Populaire Bourgogne Franche Comté   Caisse d’Epargne Bretagne-Pays De Loire   Caisse d’Epargne Normandie

Banque Populaire OCcitane   Caisse d’Epargne Ile De France   CMM Littoral du Sud Ouest
Banque Populaire Rives de Paris   Caisse d’Epargne Languedoc-Roussillon

What action do I need to take?

You should check for Backward Compatibility to determine whether this will have an impact on your payment initiation requests.

You might want to consider implementing the Auto redeem capability. Please see the Technical Bulletin for the Enhancement to provide Auto redeem for 2-step payments for more details.

You should also refresh your bank meta data using the GET /banks call to ensure you have the latest configuration for all banks that you're currently connecting to.

When will this change apply to all impacted customers?

This change will apply from the 15th May 2023.
